 * Hi everyone,
 * Just a quick request for the next release – Unless there is already a way that
   I’ve missed.
 * Would it be possible to add a filter when searching new plugins, to filter out
   the versions compatible, ie only compatible with 3.0+ or 2.9- etc.
 * Thanks!
 * Jay

 * I believe they’re working on something like this for the plugin directory redesign.

 * Well wasn’t in the latest verison. How hard can this be? Seems simple and it
   would be HUGE. C’mon guys make this happen.

 * Why does this say “resolved” it certainly isn’t.

 * Actually, it’s pretty far from “simple”.
 * This didn’t make it in because that information is misleading and we don’t have
   a good solution yet.
 * Consider the Subscribe to Comments plugin. It still says compatible up to 2.3.1
   on it. And yet it works fine with 3.1, despite not having been updated in over
   three years.
 * The compatibility by version just isn’t enough information to make a good decision
   with.

 * I disagree in some respects. Its not how one should soley make a decision on
   compatibility but it certainly would help. Just add an icon next to it for those
   that have been “tested in current version” or tested in your version or something
   and allow to filter by that option. Why is that hard? Isn’t that information
   in a database you use to hold the plugin information and description etc…obviously
   it is available because you get the notice when you view the details, I just
   want that information in the display table at a minimum, but ideally a sort feature
   to maybe just show tested with current version items first in the search. Something.
   Please help us out here, the current search is becoming almost useless with some
   many items that aren’t tested in current version.

 * It’s not hard, it’s hard to maintain. It’s up to the DEV to update their plugins
   with version compatibility. Some do, some don’t.

 * There IS a ‘tested up to…’ on the side bar in the plugin menu AND if you try
   to install it via the WP admin plugins page, you get notified if it’s NOT listed
   as tested.
 * Yes, the search sucks, but since you’re going to want to read the plugin page
   anyway, it’s not a great deal of loss. Yet. It is annoying, but not a ‘critical
   blocker’ 🙂

 * If they are listed as up-to-date or not, it would probably motivate the plugin
   authors/creators to keep the info up-to-date. I’d rather have this feature than
   the new “Admin” bar which it seems no one was clamoring for or really cares about.

 * Different sets of devs work on the website and core, just FYI.
