 * I installed super-cache today and things went a little haywire so I deleted the
   plugin folder without following the proper deactivation routine. After that my
   plugins page shows up blank (or server dropped connection in Safari). So I moved
   all my plugins to a new folder and WP automatically deactivated everything. The
   plugins page came back but only a bit, as attempts to install anything show up
   blank. Out of ideas I grabbed an archive of my database and copied over the active_plugins
   entry back into the current install. Sure enough the plugins started to work
   again on the public site but my plugins page is still blank. Anyone had anything
   like this happen? I’m really hoping I don’t have to do a full reinstall, as the
   site is using a ton of plugins and I’m worried about losing data.

 * Hi,
 * Have a check with these options:
 * -> disable all the plugins and enable them one by one to find out the culprit
   one.
    -> upgrade your wordpress to the latest version. -> remove unwanted code
   from htaccess file of your domain/blog.
 * Thanks,
 * Shane G.

 * Thanks Shane, the problem is I can’t actually get into the plugins area via the
   admin to disable anything. I don’t think it’s a plugin conflict as everything
   was playing nicely together before wp-super-cache got involved and I ripped it
   out in the worse way possible (deleted the folder).
 * The only reason the plugins are even functioning at this point is because I added
   them back into the active_plugins row in the database.
 * I’m tempted to upgrade but this is a live site and it scares me to have it blow
   up again after such a late night last night. I think I’m going to install a second
   WP, feed it the same database and slowly migrate everything over. Then migrate
   it back to the root when I’m convinced everything is kosher.

 * Ok, never really did figure out the real reason why this broke, other than the
   fact that I removed wp-super-cache in the worst way possible. I upgraded from
   2.7.1 to 2.8.4 and voila, everything is back to normal.
