 * Hi all,
 * Just a quick review based on my initial experience with this plugin. I will update
   the review if anything changes.
 * The user interface is not very intuitive. Especially the progress bar. When clicking
   on “Download most recently modified log file” I expected to see the log of events,
   but instead, I see: log..txt …
 * I’m not sure exactly what is happening right now, but I will leave the backup“
   running” until tomorrow. Our site is large, so it may take some time, but right
   now I’m skeptical and confused as to what is happening.
 * ** Update **
    The backup simply stopped without giving an error message. When
   clicking the “View Log” link under the “Existing Backups” tab all that is shown
   is: log.73c668500cea.txt … — no other information is provided. I’m sure this
   plugin works for many, but it didn’ work for me.
 * I also found the plugin developer to be very aggressive and confrontational.
   It’s not what we need or are interested in spending time with.

 * Hi,
 * If you need assistance, please do use the support forum, where there are people
   willing to help.
 * Edit responding to your update: I really didn’t mean you to read that offer of
   help as being aggressive or confrontational; I was genuinely seeking to try to
   understand your problem and how to improve the experience. I understand now that
   you didn’t want this.

 * Hi David, Thank you. This was just an initial review on my experience so far.
 * I’m sure your support will attempt to help but we’ll have to wait and see if
   the backup fails or not. In any event, if it fails or works, the interface is
   confusing and feels incomplete.
 * If it fails, and if I haven’t found another solution, I’ll contact your support.
   I’m all about avoiding support because usually working with support is very time-
   consuming. In most cases, support will request WP login credentials, which we
   don’t give out. I want a product to work as advertised.
 * I will update this review once there is more to update (if I don’t forget).

 * Hi,
 * What’s confusing about the user interface, and which bits “feel incomplete”?
   We’re used feedback of the opposite sort – it’s hard to improve something with
   no info to go on. We’re very happy to look at improvements – but need some more
   info to be able to weigh it up.

 * This isn’t the case at all – you can verify this by looking at our support channel:

 * P.P.S. Concerning the log not appearing when you click on the link, the most
   likely cause of that is an extremely overloaded/slow server – that the request
   for the log is timed out on the server side before it can be delivered.

 * Hi David. Maybe you missed this in my original post:
 * _The user interface is not very intuitive. Especially the progress bar. When
   clicking on “Download most recently modified log file” I expected to see the
   log of events, but instead, I see: log..txt …_
 * It’s confusing to see “log..txt …” when I’m expecting to either download a log
   file OR see the log of what is happening.
 * I can also provide more feedback. For example, this is confusing:
 * …next resumption: 9 (after 219s)
 * What is a “resumption” What is the number (9)? and why are we waiting 219 seconds?
 * I find the interface confusing. You may not. Others may not. I don’t find it
   intuitive.

 * Sorry David, but our serverS are NOT overloaded and closely monitored. They are
   currently sitting at ~5% CPU and ~13% memory usage. None of our servers exceeds
   more than 14% CPU and 28% memory usage during peak times.

 * OK, thanks. As I say, the log file not downloading is almost certainly caused(
   i.e. from cases previously seen) by a server that times out and fails to process
   the request. We could probably add a message in that case.
 * A “resumption” is a resumption of the effort to back up the site.

 * > Sorry David, but our serverS are NOT overloaded and closely monitored
 * Sorry, cross-post there. As I say, that’s the most likely, based on experience.
   To get something definitive, it’d need to be investigated via support. But, it
   sounds like you’ve made up your mind that you don’t like UD. Either way, I hope
   you find a backup solution that you like using, whether UD or something else.
   Have a good day!
 * David
