position and width

I’m trying to use Recent Posts Extend on my page but cannot seem to get the position and width correct. 3/4 of the way down on my home page the widget is placed mid-screen. I’m trying to move it to start on the far left and extend the full width of the page. Where/how might I accomplish this?
