# Possible bug/issue with User Groups

 * I’m not sure if you have seen this item come up.
 * I observed that if I (or anyone with admin level access to edit a contributor’s
   profile/ editor’s profile) attempts to add them to a user group from the Edit
   Profile screen (Edit Profile is a core feature in WP) it erased the data in the
   User groups which was already there. I tested it, and had 2 other admins test
   it. It only causes this at admin level b’c the ability to select user groups 
   in the Edit Profile is available to admins. (I tested this from a test contributor’s
   account and did not duplicate this issue.)

 * So odd! Thanks for the screencast — it’s really helpful for seeing how to reproduce.
   The issue you’re experiencing sounds [similar to one reported before](https://github.com/Automattic/Edit-Flow/issues/116).
   Unfortunately, even after seeing your screencast, I can’t reproduce locally. 
   I’ll have to dive deeper into it.

 * It really is very bizarre! lol!
 * Pretty much any time I add a new writer, I’ll have to go back to User Groups 
   and add everyone back into each group, but it’s not like I’m adding new writers
   every day. It’s not a “headache” for me, it’s just a “thing.”
