Hi Kat,
Thanks for responding even though I was not clear about the issue.
I can understand that you don’t understand my issue because I did not understand the issue either at the time I posted it.
Since posting I have found out a lot more:
1) There are NO server faults – sorry I put it that way, at the time I did not know how to describe it better.
2) Now what I know/can tell you is this:
– I am on shared hosting
– Under CPanel > “CPU and Concurrent Connection Usage” I am seeing the following warning:
Your site has been limited within the past 24 hours
Looking into the details of why my site was limited, it turns out the database access/database IO limit was reached.
And this limit was reached last Sunday at around 3 am, and I am sure you already likely can see how this is related to the plugin – I have a default weekly backup set on Sundays at 3 am…
If I reach an I/O limit the backup will still run but the overall performance would be decreased until the backup is complete and resources are back to normal/stable.
I also tried another backup plugin and it produces the same warning.
So I imagine this will occur with any plugin that is taking a backup of the database.
Because the backup process will continue, this warning is no big woop.
However, if there is any thing I can do, to do something like slow down the plugin, to lower the rate at which it accesses the database, please let me know…..
Thanks
