  • Hello,

You can specify zip codes in each zone and add shipping methods to it – e.g. flat rate with a fixed cost for that particular zone.

some postcodes in the center of athens should be charged 3 euros, some postcodes in land destinations should be charged 3.50 euros, some island postcodes should be charged 4 euros and inaccessible areas should be charged 5 euros

can i add greece as the zone region in all of them and just add 4 different zone names ( Inside the city of Athens, land , island destinations and inaccessible areas) with different flat rates?

woocommerce for example gives by default the option of south aegean or ionian islands as zone regions but i wanted to add a more generic zone region like “greece” for all 4 zone names as some islands in the ionian islands are inaccessible so they should take the inaccessible areas rate which is 5 euros instead of insland destination rate which is 4 euros

do u understand my concern ?

basically i want all the charges to be determined based on the postcode with all of them having a generic zone region as “greece”

    ok i found the solution

i did not include greece at all as a region and it worked

    i just used postcodes!!

for some reason the shipping calculations get confused. i have added only zipcodes in the zone regions. i did not add zone regions at all. is this a problem in calculating the cost?

I want the cost to de decided only by zipcode not by the zone region

some places in the zone region “attica” cost 4 euros to ship while others cost 3.5 euros to ship. so i want the calculation to be made based on zipcodes only not regions!

    Hey @joannaritsoni,

Could you please share some screenshots of your shipping settings, so we can understand exactly how you set them up?

I recommend https://snipboard.io for easily sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on that page, then paste the URL in this thread. It works with Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge browsers.

hello again is there a way to not have attica as the default state in the checkout page ? https://prnt.sc/1y5jik3

i want it to be blank and when you click the dropdown for the areas to show

    Hi @joannaritsoni,

By default, WooCommerce doesn’t set “Attica” as the default State for Greece: https://d.pr/i/PTQiTw

It looks like you had tested the checkout and selected that location in the past and your previous information is being used. Can you check if “Attica” is selected by default when you test in a private/incognito window?

For future reference, we recommend starting a new topic when you have questions regarding another issue.

theme support replied this “Such an option, unfortunately, does not exist within the theme. Achieving this would require changes in template files, which is not included in item support, sorry about that.”

    this is very weird

    Hi @joannaritsoni,
It looks like maybe the theme chooses the first state in alphabetical order. Is that what the theme support told you?

i think this is what they do! but i wanted it to be blank..
