# Post Grid Block – exclude current post (feature request)

 * Does the Post Grid Block have an option to exclude the current post? If not, 
   could it? It would be great to be able to offer a list of the other posts on 
   the site in the same category without directing visitors back to the current 
   post.

 * Nope, we don’t currently have that in there. It could be something we release
   one day though. I’ll keep it in mind and add it to my feedback list!

 * OK understand. I’ll have to learn how to fork the current block!
 * Actually thinking about it again I’m struggling to think of too many scenarios
   where you wouldn’t want to exclude the current post from a Post Grid. In most
   cases, it’s essentially a menu, and typically you would at least indicate which
   option you were on right now.

 * The post grid can be used in all kinds of scenarios. If you used it on a custom
   page, a home page, a landing page, etc., there wouldn’t be a current post to 
   exclude. But I can see where there are instances where it does make sense.

 * I think that was what I was trying to say – for the times when you want to include
   ALL the post in category you’ll probably be on a page anyway, and there wouldn’t
   be any harm in trying to execute the exclude argument. If you’re on a post you’re
   more than likely want to exclude the current post. So from a design point of 
   view you might just as well exclude the current post as default. Its an opinion
   anyway!
 * For time being I’ve just added ‘exclude’ => get_the_id() to the array when you
   set up get_recent_posts, and I’ll just have to remember to replace it if / when
   you upgrade the plugin!

 * Thanks for expanding on your thoughts, that helps me understand your request 
   a bit more. I’ll keep this in mind as we move forward with updates!
