Post id issue

    As I see in my database post id not in good order for example it showing – 2,5,6,11,12,13,23,31… why the numbering not in proper order something like 2,3,4,5,6,7,8… Is there any way to make this possible. I actually want to show it in my permalink along with %postname% but my current post id is 100023 which is unbelievable. Any help will be great.

    WordPress uses the posts table for more than just posts. It store autosaves, revisions, pages, attachments, and in 3.0 menus. So it is almost impossible to have sequential numbers in the manner you desire.
