# Post JSON error (plugin conflict)

 * I’ve discovered a conflict between WP External Links and a popular slider plugin
   called Smart Slider that results in a JSON error (Updating failed. The response
   is not a valid JSON response.) on posts, but not pages. I tested this on several
   sites running both plugins and found it to be consistent. They both work independently,
   just aren’t playing well together.
 * I’d much rather run WP External Links than a slider plugin, but some folks think
   they need them. So I wanted to give you the head’s up that this is occurring.
   I will be working independently on a solution on my end.
