# Post links getting “Oops” error

 * Suddenly all links from [http://www.housingcrisis.com](http://www.housingcrisis.com)
   Site result in an “Oops, this link appears to be broken.” HTTP 404 File not found
   error. Can you advise me about why this is happening?

 * Not deliberately. is there a proper setting for the permalink structure? where
   would i locate the .htaccess file? thank you for your response.

 * There isn’t a single “right” way…which is why you have [a bunch of options](http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks#Structure_Tags).
 * Try saving your permalink structure again…that should generate/update the .htaccess
   file.
 * The .htacess file is located at the root of your WP installation. If you can,
   login to your site via FTP and go to the same level as your wp-config.php file(
   the .htaccess file should be there).
 * You might need to change your ftp program’s settings to be able to view hidden
   files.
