# Post Updated Failed

 * When I edit this (or any) post on the site, I get “Update Failed”. It shows up
   in a pink bar above the post (when I click the update button).

 * This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins,
   and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable
   them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.
 * If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: [https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/)
   On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and
   change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, **without affecting normal
   visitors to your site**.

 * I tried that (turned off all plug-ins and used one of the Twenty themes), but
   still get the error.

 * Huh, yeah that shouldn’t be a problem. I wonder if something is up with the PHP
   configuration.
 * Can you try PHP 7.2 easily? That should be a quick way to rule that out.

 * It was doing it with 7.2, so I updated to 7.3 just to see if that helped (but
   it didn’t).

 * I just switched themes and it’s working now. Not sure why it didn’t work when
   I tried the 2019 theme.
