# post version control?

 * My client just started using WordPress. Today he noticed a category and long 
   post where missing from his site. He can’t really restore the entire database
   because he’s made other changes since the category and post went missing.
 * Is there a plugin or best practice to prevent loss of posts?

 * Restoring a database shouldn’t affect anything but posts, links, cats, etc. So
   unless that’s what you mean by “other changes”, it would be fine.

 * well, suppose you accidentally delete a post. Not realizing it you continue to
   post for 3 days. On the third day you realize your post is missing. How do you
   restore that post without loosing everything since you deleted it? Restoring 
   database would not help here.

 * Can’t you/he just republish the post with the original timestamp?
