 * Hi,
 * I know this might be a slightly obscure problem, but please hear me out nonetheless.
 * I am working on a project that involves “posting” blog posts before 1900, basically
   I am setting up a historical timeline and would really like to use the archive
   by year functions that wordpress provides. I have posted over 100 of these historical
   posts and now that I have reached dates before 1900 I have realised I might not
   be able to continue my work and everything was pointless.
 * I would really really really appreciate any kind of help and can provide links
   or any helpful information if needed.
 * Thanks in advance.

 * So you’re referring to this PHP _(limitation?)_:
 * > The valid range of a timestamp is typically from Fri, 13 Dec 1901 20:45:54
   > GMT to Tue, 19 Jan 2038 03:14:07 GMT. (These are the dates that correspond
   > to the minimum and maximum values for a 32-bit signed integer). However, before
   > PHP 5.1.0 this range was limited from 01-01-1970 to 19-01-2038 on some systems(
   > e.g. Windows).
 * So, why not dispense with showing the post date based on PHP and use custom text
   fields in your posts and display those, mimicking what WordPress would normally
   produce?

 * Thanks for the quick reply!
 * Oh dear, I don’t know an awful lot about PHP, but that does seem to be the issue
   here.
 * I just really liked the way wordpress allows me to have the permalinks structured
   as /%year%/%month%/%postname%/, unfortunately I do not quite understand what
   you recommend to bypass this, since, as I said, I don’t know an awful lot about
   PHP…
 * I was hoping I just need to change some settings somewhere, but if this is a
   general PHP issue there is little hope for me and my obscure problem…
 * Thanks anyway 🙂

 * It seems like I have found a relevant “ticket” that was opened 8 years ago and
   closed 5 years ago but I don’t understand anything … [https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2149](https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2149)
   Could somebody explain this to me please? 🙁
