# Posts displaying wrong comment information

 * Hello,
 * I’m running WP 2.6.3 on a local installation for testing and theme development.
   It’s going smooth except for a problem in retrieving comment data.
 * When I view a single post, it lists the correct comment number, but displays 
   the original ‘Hello world!’ post as the post being replied to, and only displays
   actual comments from that post.
 * I’m using a customized theme which I thought might be the problem, but switching
   back to the default Kubrick didn’t change anything. The template I made is basically
   just a CSS hack of Kubrick anyway, so I don’t see how it would have affected 
   anything at the code level.
 * The only thing I could find in the Codex and in previous questions was something
   related to a conflict in wp-includes/widgets.php with the comments template, 
   but I don’t see how that could be the trouble since the single.php file doesn’t
   call the sidebar. I tried that fix anyway, just it case it was code-wizardry,
   but no luck.
 * Needless to say I’m stumped. Any help/insight would be appreciated.

 * Any ideas here? I still haven’t managed to find a problem or a bug issue; any
   chance it’s a database problem?
