# posts_nav_link Problem (archive / older posts)

 * I’ve got a wordpress site hosted at [http://www.thisplaceisdead.com/blog](http://www.thisplaceisdead.com/blog)
 * I’m having problems with the posts_nav_link, specifically when it’s used in the
   archive page.
 * When it’s used on the most recent, ‘front’ page it links to “[http://www.thisplaceisdead.com/blog/index.php/page/2/&#8221](http://www.thisplaceisdead.com/blog/index.php/page/2/&#8221);
   but if, for instance, I go to the page for “September 2006” and click “Previous”,
   it takes me to the same page. i.e. the most recent previous posts and not the
   previous posts relative to where I am in the archive.
 * Does that make sense?

 * I have the same problem.
 * It happens when I change my links to permalinks using the preset “date and post”
   format. Everything is fine until I navigate to an archived page (by month or 
   category). The “previous” button takes me to /page/2/ of my blog, essentially
   the second page back from my blog home page. I’m not using “mod_rewrite”. So 
   now I’m just using the default => [http://www.justinline.com/wordpress/](http://www.justinline.com/wordpress/).
 * Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
