 * Dear all,
 * In the list of the cookies, the “preferences cookies” what categories it is?
   Because when the user choise the category, only appear functional, stadistic
   or marketing. For example, the language cookie is the preferences (maybe it’s
   considerer functional?).

 * Hi [@saramb2015](https://wordpress.org/support/users/saramb2015/),
 * As preferences cookies do not require consent, Complianz allows them before interaction
   with the cookie banner and they are categorized under ‘functional’. In the generated
   Cookie Policy the purpose and function of these particular cookies will be explained
   in more detail.
 * If you feel that you would like to provide more information on the banner, you
   could consider renaming the category on the banner to ‘functional and preferences’,
   via the cookie banner settings menu.
 * Kind regards,
    Leon

 * Hi Leon!
 * Thanks for your answer. I live in Spain, is necessary to specific the categories?
   Or only the button “accept all cookies” and “functionaly only” is enought? I
   think that it’s better for the users and more easy to understand… But appear
   the missage that i have the stadistic cookies and i don’t understand to much
   if necessary or not the categories in the banner of the web.
 * Thanks!

 * [@saramb2015](https://wordpress.org/support/users/saramb2015/) It is required
   to ask for specific and informed consent, so you could argue that this should
   be mentioned on the banner. Though preferences
 * Complianz will automatically add a ‘statistics’ category to your banner if your
   statistics tracking requires consent for the configured region. For example:
   if you are targeting the EU, answered that you are using Google Analytics without
   anonymizing IP’s, the statistics category will be added. If consent is not required
   for statistics, it will be considered as functional.
 * Kind regards,
    Leon

 * Thanks Leon! I changed it!
 * The last question… I can’t detect the cookies of the Google Maps, Google Font
   and recaptcha (but yes the services). What is the reason?

 * [@saramb2015](https://wordpress.org/support/users/saramb2015/) These services
   typically place third-party cookies. The Complianz cookie scan runs from your
   browser, so it can not read third-party cookies. It does scan your site for known
   scripts that belong to these services and activates the relevant integrations.
 * You can double-check this via the wizard (cookies -> integrations) or via Complianz-
   > integrations. If these are enabled, Complianz should state the relevant cookies
   under wizard -> cookies -> used cookies and on your Cookie Policy.
 * Google fonts does not use cookies, but does send IP addresses to the Google Fonts
   API.
 * Kind regards,
    Leon

 * Dear Leon,
 * I think that don’t understand you. Yes, I have active the Google Maps in the
   integrations, and also, when user don’t accept the cookie marketing it’s blocking…
   but, I don’t know what cookies user this services… it’s necessary to put in the
   cookie policy? Because don’t appear and I don’t know what I doing wrong… And
   in the Google Recaptcha is necessary to put in the cookie policy? Because I think
   that not use any cookie.
 * I have this doubts in the third party cookies because I don’t know if necessary
   to put the cookies specifics that use or not.

 * Hi [@saramb2015](https://wordpress.org/support/users/saramb2015/),
 * Let me start by correcting my earlier statement. In some cases preference cookies
   do require consent, if their function is not strictly necessary. For example
   shopping cart or language preference cookies do not require consent.
 * If you have enabled the integrations for Google Maps and Recaptcha and then issue
   a sync with cookiedatabase.org, the relevant cookies will be indicated on your
   Cookie Policy,
 * If you want us to have a look at your site as well, please share the URL of your
   site under ‘the page I need help with’. You can find more information about services
   and the cookies they use on cookiedatabase.org, for example ehttps://cookiedatabase.

 * Hi Leon,
 * The problem is that not detect the cookies of the Google Maps and Recaptcha (
   the third party). I don’t understand the motive. In my first time when I did
   the scan appearing the cookies, but after, I do other again the scan and desappear
   this cookies… I think that it’s important to appear in the cookie policy. I have
   tried in two webs differents, and happen the same. The third party cookies not
   apear in the cookies policy…
 * And if the preferences cookies sometimes is non-necessary, why don’t it appear
   in the categories?
 * Thanks very much for your help!

 * Hi [@saramb2015](https://wordpress.org/support/users/saramb2015/),
 * If you have selected reCapthca and Google Maps as a service under Integrations–
   Third-Party, the cookiedatabase.org synch will do the rest, you can repeat the
   sync if necessary.
 * Let me know if this works,

 * Hi [@saramb2015](https://wordpress.org/support/users/saramb2015/),
 * These preferences cookies are mostly set by plugins, and to be able to set preferences
   cookies separately plugins will need to conform with the Consent API.
 * [https://wpconsentapi.org](https://wpconsentapi.org) – if you have a plugin which
   might need conform, please let them know of this possibility. As Complianz, we
   can’t force this or manipulate directly.

 * [@saramb2015](https://wordpress.org/support/users/saramb2015/),
 * To explain a bit more: because preferences cookies cannot be blocked unless the
   plugin that places it conforms to the WP Consent API, this category is added
   if you install the WP Consent API.
 * The reason these cookies only can get blocked if a plugin conforms to the consent
   api is a technical one. An example is the WordPress comment cookie, which is
   placed using PHP. As it’s technically not possible to prevent php code from placing
   cookies, this will only work if the php code checks the consent api before placing
   the cookie.
 * **Summarizing:**
    You can get the preferences category in Complianz by installing
   the wp consent api. This will handle consent for preferences cookies like for
   example the WordPress comment cookies, and any other plugin that supports the
   WP Consent API.
