# Prevent customization overwrite when upgrading?

 * I have customized Events Calendar to match the theme and colours of my site. 
   However, every time I upgrade it breaks my customizations, and I have to do them
   all over again. I do keep a record of what needs to be done, but it’s extensive
   and time consuming.
 * Is there a way to avoid this from happening?

   custom.
