# Preview Post: Error 404

 * Hi,
    I’ve recently just been writing a new blog post and went to Preview the 
   post and it throws up the Error 404 page.
 * I published the post to check if that works, and it works fine, no 404 errors
   once published, only when trying to view via Preview.
 * From checking other posts, it only seems to throw up the Error when previewing
   Draft posts.
 * I’m a complete novice when it comes to web design so I haven’t touched any of
   the coding manually. I run the theme ShopIsle, I’ve only noticed this error since
   updating this theme.
 * Any ideas on how to fix it? Like I said I’m a novice so I need simple terms.

 * In case you haven’t already tried this.
    Go to your Admin Dashboard => settings
   => Permalinks. Change your permalink structure from “Month and name” to something
   else say “Post name”. Save changes. Refresh (or log out and in) then go back 
   to settings => Permalinks. Change it back to “Month and name” ==> Save changes.
   See if that helps.
