• Hi everyone.

I’m a super newbie on here, but a buddy of mine that’s been doing this for a while said, huh – that’s strange….so, here I am posting.

I am creating a custom theme based off the Twenty Ten theme. I created a custom menu under the appearence area. All was working fine and dandy, then one day when I was messing around in the admin area I noticed that my custom menu was no longer being displayed. The primary reason I noticed this was that allofasudden the home link was displaying when I intentionally left it out. Since then I created another menu and tried to implement that. I choose it in the Theme Locations area, hit Save and get nothing. And everytime I go back to the Menus area, nothing is displayed in the Primary Navigation drop down. I choose my menu, hit save. Repeat.

    Nothing happens. Please Help!!

    thanks.

  • Is this a child theme of Twenty Ten or a standalone theme?

    standalone.

I think what happened, and I could be wrong, but the timing dictates a possible relationship….

I duped the Twenty Ten theme, renamed it and started tweaking. One day, I deleted the twenty ten theme I duped, and that’s when i *think* things started to go awry.

So, I re-added the theme to my themes area thinking maybe this would do the trick. Nope. So maybe that wasn’t it and i just fudged something else up….

Re-installing the duped theme (or at least a renamed version of Twenty Ten) should work.

did not work. I’m still not getting my custom menus. But when I activate twenty ten, and activate the menu in that theme, it works just fine.

    Any other thoughts?

    Thank you.
