 * Hi, yes the priority value in sitemaps means higher is more important in the 
   eyes of the site owner. These values should be seen as a recommendation. Of course,
   search engines are free to completely ignore these recommendations.

 * Thank you, much appreciated.
 * Not sure why but it seems my sitemap is being indexed yet the content does not
   seem to appear in the results. I post jobs to Google jobs and I can see it has
   been indexed but the numbers do not correlate with the Google search console.
 * It shows that it indexed 540 job posts in the sitemap but on the search console
   it barely has 300?

 * Maybe the posts are not properly identified as jobs? Sometimes it helps removing
   the sitemap from Search Console and resubmitting it, but often is just takes 
   a while for Search Console to properly reflect the current situation.
