 * I have started to experience an issue with Elementor. I can edit existing widgets
fine and insert one of my saved sections into a page. However I can’t drag a
widget from the left and drop it into an existing or new column section. As soon
as I grab it I see a red circle with a line through it and I can’t move it across.
So I can’t create any new content.
 * I deactivated all my plugins but it didn’t fix the issue. I think the problem
might be down to the Wordfence plugin which I recently installed on my staging
URL (but not on an old local test version which still works ok). I deactivated
and deleted Wordfence but I noticed a note on your FAQs about purging caching
plugins. I’m not sure how to do that, although I did notice on PHP Admin that
there are quite a few files starting wf which I thought would have been deleted
but still are there. I am not confident looking at this view, however, as I am
a beginner so not sure if OK to just delete these. E.g. I am not sure how to
edit the config.php file within PHP Admin.
 * Is there a known problem with Elementor and Wordfence? If so, do you have any
   suggestions for alternatives?
    Any advice enormously appreciated.

 * I would try to increase the memory in the wp-config.php file.
 * define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’ );

 * Editing the wp-config.php is not as hard as it seems.

 * I can confirm I have both Elementor and WordFence installed on many sites without
   this issue.
 * Have you tried a different browser just to rule out a browser version or plugin?
The issue sounds javascript related because the drag and drop functionality is
all javascript. You can also check your browsers console with F12 and see if
   there are any errors shown.

 * Thank you so much guys for your quick responses. I changed browsers (from Edge
to Chrome) and it now works – so sorry I didn’t think of that first! I normally
work in Chrome but had forgotten I was looking at something else in Edge.
    I
will definitely check out the config.php video too as I am sure I’ll need that
   at some point. Thanks again.

 * Glad that Elementor is working for you fine now in Chrome.
