Problem importing from MT…

I’ve imported entries from an old fantasy from a site on MT to a site run on WordPress. The installation went fine, except that now every word in the posts that contain “ass” (such as pass, glass, assurance, etc.) now contain the word “bottom.”
So “pass” becomes “pbottom,” “glass” becomes “glbottom” etc.
It is an online rpg and there are a lot of entries. Is there anyway to fix this without my having to go back and edit every post where the bug appears? Why did it do that in the first place? I can see replacing the word “ass” with “bottom,” but must every a-s-s in the middle of a word be converted also? here is a good example of what I mean. First line, second paragraph.
Is there any way to fix this?
