# Problem installing wordpress locally

 * I am using MAMP to install WordPress locally. I am pretty sure that the database
   name, username and password are correct. Although when I try to install it, I
   am prompted with an error saying the following:
 * “This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.
   php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This
   could mean your host’s database server is down.
 * Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    Are you sure that you
   have typed the correct hostname? Are you sure that the database server is running?
 * If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host.
   If you still need help you can always visit the”
 * Is there any way I can solve this problem?

 * MAMP requires “root” for the username and password. Do you have those credentials
   in your wp-config file?
 * Other local environments like XAMPP use a blank password by default.

 * DO check if the DB server is running with PHPMysql or mysql client on command
   line: mysql -h 127.0.0.1 -u root -p password

 * Fabio and Yoga1103 thank you. I got it fixed everything is working now.
 * 1 final question, I have created my own website using MAMP and now I need to 
   know how can I upload it to my hosting (godaddy), so my customers can access 
   it! Any idea?
