 * For the past 2 days I have had trouble logging off of WordPress version 3.0.1.
   This has just started on Wednesday morning, and I haven’t installed any new addons.
 * When I click Log Out, I get a page that says:
 * > The Connection Was Reset
   > The connection to the server was reset while the
   > page was loading.
   > The site could be temporarily unavailable or to busy. Try again in a few moments.
   >
   > If you are unable to load any page, check your computers network connection.
   > If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
   > that Firefox is permitted to access the web.
 * Now I have to click Try again about 20 to 30 times for it to finally log off.
 * I cannot figure out why it is locking up like this on me. I can open up another
   window, and go to another site, so I know that i am still online.
 * I have also erased all of my cookies.
 * Also I have a new anti-virus running on my system. I thought that might be it,
   so I turned off the AV for a moment, and that didnt help.
 * Any suggestions?
    Tim

 * Have you tried:
 * -checking with your server for any server problems.
 * > -If you have access to your admin panel, try deactivating all plugins. If you
   > don’t have access to your admin panel, try manually resetting your plugins.
   > If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find

   > -If your blog showed no signs of improvement after deactivating your plugins,

   > to your admin panel, try switching to the Default theme. If you don’t have
   > access to your admin panel, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to/
   > wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme.
   > This will force the Default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-

 * Hey t-p,
 * I tried the site with the admin account on two other systems and the site seems
   to be working fine. (Win XP Pro / Win XP Home)
 * When I try it on the Win7 system, that is where we seem to have problems.
 * We are using Firefox 3.6.10
    Win 7 Pro 4 Gig Memory 1 TD HDD No Viruses
 * I will try the steps that you gave me – and Ill let you know, what is happening.

 * i Don’t know much about Win7 system.
 * Review [this thread ](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/a-little-help-with-installing-win-7-iis-75-latest-php-and-mysql?replies=13)
   and see if it sheds some light on Win 7 settings.

 * t-p,
 * I must have phrased that wrong. My computer that I use is that above. I have
   it on a regular server at Start-Logic.
 * When I try to log off I am still getting an error page, with this in the URL:
 * `.../wp-login.php?action=logout&_wpnonce=0c89124c67`
 * I have even tried to disconnect my antivirus, no luck, reinstall 3.0.1, no luck,
   checked my entire system for viruses, clean.
 * I have no idea what it could be.

 * I was having the same problem. I was able to log out when I cleared my cookies.
   I’m not sure what caused the problem. But at least clearing cookies gave me a
   temporary solution.

 * Hi Princess,
 * I cleared the cookies numerous times, and that just doesn’t work on this end.
   I have talked to a few people on twitter, who have had the same problem on StartLogic.
   It has to be on there end and not ours.
 * The funny thing is that I have taken my computer in to have it checked; it was
   fine; had to pay for it.
 * This is what we have learned so far:
 * I have 3 separate sites that run WordPress 3.0.1 on different servers at Startlogic,
   until Monday the 11th. After the 11th, all of the sites, started to give me the
   error when I was logging out of WP:
 * > The Connection Was Reset
   > The connection to the server was reset while the
   > page was loading. The site could be temporarily unavailable or to busy. Try
   > again in a few moments. If you are unable to load any page, check your computers
   > network connection. If your computer or network is protected by a firewall
   > or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the web.
 * Like I said before, even clearing the cookies on this end wont get rid of the
   URL:
 * > …/wp-login.php?action=logout&_wpnonce=0c89124c67
 * But I have learned this:
    It will work using the computers of this type:
 * All Macs
    Windows XP Windows NT Windows 7 Start Windows 7 Premium
 * These two are not working with the log-out with WP 3.0.1 at Startlogic:
 * Windows 7 Professional
    Windows 7 Ultimate
 * So now I am starting to think maybe it was something that last Tuesdays Windows
   Upgdate may have had something to do with it.

 * I was having the same problem. I just installed WP and am running Windows 7 and
   Firefox. I checked the other posts and found one reply where the person said
   to try logging out using this [http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php?loggedout=true](http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php?loggedout=true).
   I typed in my browser bar, of course I changed yourdomain to my domain’s name,
   It worked like a charm. Clearing out the cookies did not work. I wonder if this
   could be changed on the php page that handles the logout. I am not too familiar
   with php, but if one of you php gurus can modify the php logout script and post
   it that would be great.

 * t34:
 * It worked great. Thanks very much. I should have ran into you at first. It just
   about 12-14 days to fix this problem! Again, thanks a lot.

 * I’ve been having the same problem. Tried it with IE/Firefox (XP), more than one
   login, and on my Windows 7 laptop using Firefox. This WordPress is Pixel Theme,
   new installation a couple weeks ago, on the iPower server.
 * IMHO, this needs to be fixed. We can’t have users having to go to other sites
   to log out or clearing their cache every log out. 😉
 * Thanks!

 * Jon,
 * So you ran into the same problem on an IPower server? I have a personal site
   on an IPower server, running WP 2.2.1 (still way back there) and it is running
   fine. So I am glad I didn’t upgrade.
 * I ran into the problem on the StartLogic servers where I have a few business
   sites, and it went wacko with the version 3.0.1, until t31 helped me.
 * Aren’t the two companies like brothers anyway? They share servers in Phoenix?

 * Not sure Tim. That’s good to know though. This problem may be somewhat server
   specific…
 * Anyway, I just cleared cache on my W7/Firefox laptop, logged in with a couple
   different WordPress accounts, then logged out. I was able to log out about every
   3rd time, the other, got the problem you described. So, intermittent, at best.
 * BTW, here is my new site: [http://calumettradegoods.com/](http://calumettradegoods.com/)

   Feel free to sign up as a subscriber to test it. We’re getting ready to go live,
   I just changed the domain pointer a few days ago. I did test the problem to see
   if it happened only through the new domain. It seemed to happen with both. I
   have the WP Block Admin activated. I unactivated it to test for the error. So,
   there MIGHT be some complication with those 2 recent changes.
 * I’m wondering if the code can be tweaked to give it more time before it times
   out? Understand, I’ve not looked at the code, just a suggestion for the code
   jockey’s to look into. 😉
 * Thanks!

 * I’m having this problem on a WP blog as well — my two previous WP blogs work
   fine, so I doubt it’s an OS/browser issue. That WP blog also has problems running
   the Antivirus plugin (it just kinda hangs when I try to do a scan — do you have
   that plugin, jhagee? and if so, does it work for you?), but it works fine for
   the others. Seems like a server issue to me at this point.

 * Wes, no, I don’t have that plugin, just the one.
 * Tim, I just checked, the iPower servers are in Boston. If these 2 companies are
   working together, I don’t know anything about it.
 * I may try putting in a ticket with iPower and see if they have any suggestions.
   At least, the client hasn’t complained… yet. 🙂

 * iPower, eh? I believe the host of the site I’m having a problem with is iPage…
   so hrm.

 * I don’t host with iPower or iPage. I use Fatcow and I have the same problem.
   But once I change it to true, I can log out. It is just a pain to have to keep
   doing that each time I log out.
