# Problem setting up WordPress.org Account

 * Hi! I am trying to set up an account with my company email id, and running into
   issues. We need an account with the company email id so that we can send reports
   related to distributed testing as mentioned here: [https://make.wordpress.org/hosting/handbook/tests/#how-to-report-creating-your-bot-for-wordpress-org](https://make.wordpress.org/hosting/handbook/tests/#how-to-report-creating-your-bot-for-wordpress-org)
 * I got an email to setup the password for this account, but upon clicking that
   link, it takes me to the Create Profile page and mentions that “Your account 
   is pending approval. You will receive an email at `<username>@wpengine.com` to
   set your password when approved.

   for more details.”
 * The emails to [forum-password-resets@wordpress.org](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/problem-setting-up-wordpress-account/forum-password-resets@wordpress.org?output_format=md)
   have been failing as well due to “High probability of spam error”. Can someone
   please help with getting us set up an account? Thank you!

 * I’m going to presume you are encountering issues _sending emails_, and not that
   you are receiving an automated rejection response from the email mentioned?
 * If that is the case, please check your outbound spamfilters first of all, as 
   we rely on reliable email transactions to verify who individuals are (if we can’t
   email back and forth, then we don’t know who you are after all).
 * If it’s an outbound spamfilter, we would love to hear more about it of course,
   you may also reach out on [Slack](https://make.wordpress.org/chat/) if there 
   is information in the filter that can not be posted publicly.

 * Thank you Marius for your reply. The error in the email mentions “The response
   from the remote server was: 554 5.7.1 High probability of spam”, so I wonder 
   if there is a filter on the receiver end to filter it out. FWIW, I did get an
   email when I set up my account from [noreply@wordpress.org](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/problem-setting-up-wordpress-account/noreply@wordpress.org?output_format=md)
   for setting up the password, so the email is working one way, but I am not able
   to _send_ emails to [forum-password-resets@wordpress.org](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/problem-setting-up-wordpress-account/forum-password-resets@wordpress.org?output_format=md).
 * The actual issue with the account setup is the link that was sent to create a
   password is not working. When I follow the link, it either takes me to a “link
   has expired” or “Your account is pending approval. You will receive an email 
   at `<email_id>` to set your password when approved.” page. The interesting thing
   is the original email I received was for setting up the password, so I am a bit
   confused as to why the link in that email is still saying “Your account is pending
   approval”.

 * It does indeed sound like your company email server is being flagged, I’ll escalate
   it and see if we can find out the reason, as I’m not seeing an immediate cause
   for it (it may have been a temporary fluke that has since been resolved, as I
   unfortunate did not have a chance to follow up with you yesterday).

 * We’ve approved the pending WP Engine accounts at this time, but we obviously 
   can’t publicly disclose why they were kept in limbo.
 * We strongly recommend checking in with your mail provider why their mail services
   may (or have been) blocked recently, to ensure you are able to reach out in the
   future if similar incidents should occur.

 * Thank you Marius for the approvals. I will reach out to the folks who manage 
   our emails on our side as well to see why we are having issues sending these 
   emails.
