# Problem updating new version and adding plugins

 * I am currently hosting a WP site on 1and1 Internet. For some reason I am not 
   able to update to the latest version of WordPress or upload any plugins. The 
   progress screens for both the update and the plugins say that the app is unzipping
   and installing but nothing happens. I have tried to FTP the plugins into my content/
   plugins folder but they don’t show up in my WP app.
 * I don’t have a clue as to how to diagnose this or resolve the issue. 1and1 Internet
   walked me through the WP install but offers no support beyond that.
 * Can anyone shed some light on this?

 * You need to upgrade your hosting package to PHP 5.
