Problem using display-posts shortcode

I am attempting to use the display-posts shortcode built into wordpress, hopefully I’m not the issue and misunderstanding how to use it. I put the following code on both a page and a post, and all it does is display the code in the post itself, it does not render the code and display the expected posts:

`[display-posts category=”family-stories-trees” orderby=”title” order=”ASC”]

I’ve seen in search it might be a theme issue, though I see no similar posts in the theme support. I’m assuming I’m doing something wrong – I don’t do a lot of WordPress development so for me not to “get” something wouldn’t be a huge surprise.

Thoughts?
