 * When I am using elementor to create the page, then, all the headings are visible
in the table of content, but links are not changed in the front-end.
    How can
I expand the scope of front-end code editing inside the plugin to cover elementor
content also. I can change few lines of code in both plugins if you want. Please
   help me.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fproblem-using-elementor%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * It appears the widget is able to properly pull out the H2 headlines and create
the. But it appears the actual page content is not being processed so the in
   page links are missing.
 * If you are adventurous/daring you can try the next release currently under development.

 * There have been some logic changes on when the page content should be parsed
and in page links added. Perhaps, by chance, this will correct the issue you
   are running into.
 * If you want to give it a try, download the file and unzip it. Use FTP to overwrite
the files for ezTOC in the WP plugins folder. If you do not know how to perform
such a task then I definitely recommend against trying to use this version.

    Did you
include the EasyTOC on the page with the Elementor Shortcode widget or auto-including
it on all pages? (shortcode is [toc])
 * I’m using Elementor in combination with EasyTOC myself, and don’t have that issue
you mention. Maybe it’s a difference in configuration that does the trick, hence
   my question above.

 * Thanks! Good to know.
 * When I looked at their page, it had been using the ezTOC widget, not the shortcode.
I could tell by looking at the page source. I do wonder if the recently released
version 1.7 would have addressed this due to the logic change on whether a page
   should be parsed or not.
 * Visual page builders, in my experiences, are notorious for breaking things that
should just work due to their creative methods in implementing the visual builder.
I’m looking for to the release of WP with it’s own visual builder (ezTOC is already
compatible 😉 ). I’m hoping this will help to better standardized visual builders.

 * The method of using Elementor Shortcode widget + [toc] shortcode was working
   before, and with EasyTOC 1.7.
 * The main disadvantage is not being able to configure the TOC from within Elementor.
 * And before 1.7 including for example a H3 was only possible if H3 was enabled
in the main EasyTOC settings AND in the page specific EasyTOC setting. Haven’t
tested that scenario with 1.7 yet (disabling in main, enabling in page specific).

Update: Tested, works: with EasyTOC 1.7 disabling H3 in main, enabling H3 in
page specific settings shows the H3 in the TOC)

 * **RE: The method of using Elementor Shortcode widget + [toc] shortcode was working

 * I understand. Thanks for the feedback! The OP was using the **ezTOC Widget** —
not the Shortcode Widget + `[toc]` shortcode.

 * Version 1.7 did indeed contain a fix for this. Thanks for confirming that the
   fix does indeed work!
