I’m not even sure that the GoDaddy issue is still there; but I can’t really distinguish between “nobody reports the issue because it isn’t happening anymore” and “nobody reports the issue because they see my notice about it and move on.”
I don’t have any past issues with WP Super Cache (assuming that’s what you mean by ‘super cache’), so it’s probably not that.
However, if there’s server-side caching, that could be relevant.
Does this happen for *both* logged-in and logged-out users, or is it specific to logged-out users?
Hi Joe!
Sorry, I probably didn’t explain very well. Siteground recently stopped using cPanel – they now use something called SiteTools instead, and it uses something different for caching the site.
Regarding you last question, it only happens to logged-out users (I should have mentioned that before). In fact, when I was first told about the problem it was because customers who don’t have a login couldn’t add anything to the basket. When logged-in there are no issues at all.
When logged-out is as if you cannot make any changes to the cart unless the cache is flushed server-end. For example, when trying to delete items from the cart, it says updated, but as soon as you refresh the page the item comes back. It’s as if the cart stays the same as the first change/changes made after the cache is flushed.
I hope that makes sense!

That sounds *a lot* like it’s an issue specific to the caching mechanism. Is there any way for you to disable the caching so you can check that? The easiest way to verify if this is related to the caching would be to disable it.
Hi Joe!
That looks like it’s worked!
Being SiteGround, they have some instructions on disabling the dynamic cache here:
https://www.siteground.com/kb/disable-dynamic-caching-website/
After doing that it’s possible to add items and delete them from the cart. I’ll double check with the client next week and see if it’s working for them too.
I’ll probably switch to cloud flare or something else to speed the site up.
Good to know! Thanks for following up!
