• Somehow the comment info of my visitors is not remembered (or automatically cleared?), they have to re-type all their information again when they want to leave another comment at my site.

    How can I change this?

  • Hi. I know you posted your pb a really long time ago, but I recently joined WP and I’m trying to help out as much as I can, so I’m reviewing unanswered posts from a couple of months back.
I think the answer to your pb (if you haven’t yet figured it out) lies on the Discussion settings in your Dashboard. Unless you don’t have the “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” option enabled, your users browsers won’t store the information provided as a cookie because there is no session open (since users can just post comments without signing in). So the quickest way to solve that would be to have your users signing in every time, and that would force their session info to be saved by the browser of their choice (at least, until their session times outt or hey clear their caches).
Another way of saving that info would be for your users to enable storage of information entered in fields and forms, but as far as I know, it is entirely up to them and their configurations and you can’t control that remotely.
    Hope that helped!

    Hello again.

I hope you’re doing well, and that you were able to figure out your pb. If all your questions and doubts were answered, and if you do not have further questions, would you mind marking this thread as “resolved”? That would help a lot.
    Thanks!

    Marventus

I’m having the same problem with my new theme, and it’s not just a matter of having commenters sign in. In the past, commenters have been able to comment on one post, and then their name and email address are pre-filled for any subsequent comments they make, all without being logged in. See the codex article on the WordPress cookie here.

I know it’s theme-specific, because it works fine with every other theme I switch to. I just can’t pin down what’s different about this theme.

    Anyone have a resolution?
