# Problem with custom posts

 * hi. I’m using a theme that uses custom posts. I really struggle with code, so
   I struggled to understand sections of the Codex on this, so I thought I’d make
   a post. Basically, I want to rename one of the custom posts the theme uses.

 * I want to get rid of “portfolio” and have that named “products”. I managed to
   rename some parts of the theme (for example, in the backend, it now says Product
   Item instead of Portfolio Item), but I’m having trouble getting the structure
   underneath to change (that is, without breaking everything).
 * For example, on the page above, look at the breadcrumbs. It says Home >> Product
   >> Omaha, but if you hover over Product you’ll see that the URL is actually to
   Portfolio.
 * Basically, I need some help to identify what to change and where.
 * I considered simply renaming EVERYTHING in the theme files that had portfolio
   in it, to products. But this is probably not best practice.
 * Any and all help greatly appreciated!

 * You should search your functions.php of the theme and find where it registers
   the custom post.
