Hi,
– we just test it on our dev server and it’s sending only one email at a time. most probably another plugin is sending the order email.
– you can override the preorder email template in the pro version

To troubleshoot, disable all plugins but WooCommerce and also switch temporarily to “Twenty Twenty-One” theme – does it work?
If yes, you have a conflict with your current theme or one of the plugins.

Can you please tell more about preorder email template in the pro version of the plugin? Because I can’t find any information about this on your website. And this is the feature that I am missing.
If I understand correctly in free version there is no custom template for preorder status and customer receive only invoice email, right?

yes the free version user will only receive invoice email.
but in the pro version, you can override the email templates.
here is the template listed below we provide in the pro version:
- Pre-order Order
- New pre-order
- Pre-order Alert
- Pre-order available today

just want to double-check.
In pro version customers who preorder items may receive custom email (one of 4, which you described before). And order status automatically will change to “preorder” like in free version, right?
