# Problem with Minify

 * I enabled Minify and then I edited the child css file but the changes do not
   appear on the site. So I disabled Minify and the changes appeared.

 * Hi there,
 * The minified files are cached for better performance.
 * So if you edit files directly, you’ll want to either turn off minify until you’re
   done with your changes, or press “Reset the minified files” when pushing your
   changes.
 * Best,
    Marc.

 * If I may, I have a request:
 * Could you please add an option to disable cached minified files for admin users?
   I believe this is how other plugins like Autoptimize do it. That way, it’s possible
   to view the work done on CSS and JS files while logged in, without having to
   turn off minification or reset the minified files each time.
 * It would also be nice to have a refresh minified files button in the wp-admin
   bar, in the purge all pages drop down.

 * [@jordanwebdev](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jordanwebdev/) Your first
   request exists in “Minify > Settings > Disable Minify for logged-in users”
 * The second is on our todo list.
 * Nb: For the future, it’s best to open a separate support topic with your questions.
   This avoids spamming the other users with notification emails with unrelated
   content 🙂

 * [@marck](https://wordpress.org/support/users/marck/) Lacroix This is what I meant
   in my previous post, in this way when I edit a file, it immediately shows the
   changes on the screen (only for registered users, that is me).

 * [@steve92](https://wordpress.org/support/users/steve92/) You’re talking about
   editing files and minify, but are sharing a screen of the page caching screen.
   So I’m a bit confused by your last message?
 * If you want to see your changes to your child theme’s CSS immediately without
   having to manually purge the cache, “Serve cached pages to logged in users” should
   be disabled in the cache section (enabled in your screenshot), and “Minify >
   Settings > Disable Minify for logged-in users” should be enabled.

 * [@marc](https://wordpress.org/support/users/marc/) I had not explained myself
   well.
    I want to do this: When I make a change to any file, the change must be
   visible immediately by registered users and visitors.

 * Hi,
 * When you’ve finished your changes, OR press “Reset the minified files”, OR “Purge
   the cahe” and do a “Preload cache” again (that’s what I do, it works fine).

 * [@steve92](https://wordpress.org/support/users/steve92/) There’s no automatic
   action to do this when you edit themes or plugin files.
 * After each change, you’ll have to press “Reset the minified files” (which also
   purges the page cache).
 * If you’re doing a lot of changes (e.g. if you’re developing / setting up a site),
   it might be a good idea to disable those features until it’s done.
 * Marc.
