# Problem with Posting

 * I’ve been having this problem ever since about 3 weeks ago. Everytime I published,
   I get the standard error page on…
    “The page cannot be displayed The page you
   are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing 
   technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings. etc 
   etc”
 * I would be grateful if someone can tell me what is wrong? How can I correct the
   problem?

 * I started using WP since last week. Anyway, did you try this – clear your cache?
   Then try to refresh the page again?

 * I’ve got 1 blog doing the same thing. It’s on the same server as 3 other blogs
   running WP (unique instances). I’ve disabled all the PING options, and the Google
   Sitemaps plugin. For the life of me, I couldn’t figure it out.
 * Then I changed the .htaccess file and it still takes FOREVER to post, but at 
   least it gets done.

   htacess file. Do you still ping after every post now?

 * Hi Evelyn:
 * A .htaccess file is used by the Apache server for many reasons. WordPress creates
   and edits it automatically if you have your PERMA-LINKS setup. Otherwise, you
   shouldn’t have to mess with it much. To edit it, you can either access it through
   your HOST’s cpanel, or download it by FTP.
 * I have turned off the auto-pinging for now, although it has made no difference.
