# Problem with posts – Please help.

 * my site is [http://www.lcd-enclosure.us](http://www.lcd-enclosure.us) and when
   I post a new thread it does not show up, it gives me an error when I click on
   the category then click on the post. For example [http://www.lcd-enclosure.us/outdoor-digital-signage/outdoor-digital-signage/](http://www.lcd-enclosure.us/outdoor-digital-signage/outdoor-digital-signage/)
   click on 3 tips and get error?? But the

 * Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting and deleting/
   renaming your WordPress .htaccess file. If this works, then review [Using_Permalinks](http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks)
   before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.

 * esmi, thanks for that, I did exactly as suggested, setting the posts permalinks
   to default then deleting the .htaccess file and setting the permalink structure
   as /%category%/postname%/ but I still get the error as before, after adding a
   new .htaccess file.

 * Are you getting any messages about .htaccess needing to be writeable?
 * Have you checked with your hosts that mod_rewrite is running on your server?
