problem with SVG
-
Dimension meta data of replaced SVG isn’t updated.
I’m using your SVG plugin.

Hi there,
Thanks for reporting this. We’ve tried to reproduce the issue on our side, but we weren’t able to — when uploading a new SVG file with different dimensions, the metadata updates correctly.
Could you please try again after temporarily deactivating all other plugins except Enable Media Replace and WP SVG Images, and then test the replacement process once more?
If that doesn’t work, could you please send us a screen recording so we can see what exactly is happening from your side?
Thank you!
I can’t confirm it with newly uploaded svg, but I think it was originally uploaded by Safe SVG.
Then I noticed Media Replace isn’t compatible with it. it rejects replacement.
So I changed Safe SVG to your SVG plugin.Hi there,
Thanks for the clarification — that’s very helpful!
It sounds like the issue may be related to files originally uploaded through the Safe SVG plugin. We’ve seen some compatibility differences between Safe SVG and other plugins when handling SVG metadata, which can sometimes affect how replacements work.
Since you’ve already switched to our WP SVG Images plugin, new uploads and replacements should behave correctly from now on. If you still notice any inconsistencies with files that were originally uploaded via Safe SVG, we’d recommend re-uploading them once using WP SVG Images — that will ensure full compatibility going forward.
Have a good one!
Putting aside dimension problem, would you fix compatibility with other popular SVG plugins?
I can’t even upload(replace) SVGs.
Sometimes I can not use your SVG plugin due to clients’ policy. so this is a problem.Hi ashf,
Leaving aside the dimensions problem, we have not found any other compatibility issues when uploading/replacing files. Do you have any example of this? Could you send us a screen recording so we can see what’s happening on your end?
Like I mentioned above, I was not able to replace a SVG when using SafeSVG.
It’s rejected as if SafeSVG isn’t working.
Probably caused by the order of process(priority)?Hi ashf,
We’ve tested this again on our side, and everything is working correctly — we weren’t able to reproduce the issue you mentioned. It’s likely something related to your specific setup or environment.
We recommend using our WP SVG Images plugin, as it’s fully verified to work seamlessly with Enable Media Replace.
Since this is a free plugin and maintaining compatibility with every third-party tool requires significant time and effort, we can’t guarantee full support for all other SVG plugins. However, you’re very welcome to suggest improvements or share technical details directly on our GitHub page:
