Future-dated posts ought not ping, because the ping will reference a post that is not yet visible. * My [WP-Cron plugin](http://www.skippy.net/blog/category/wp-cron/) includes a helper plugin called WP-Cron Future Pings, which is supposed to suppress the default pings when you publish, and then execute them when the post would be visible (or shortly thereafter). * WP-Cron Future Pings mostly works, though I’m still chasing down a few small bugs. I invite you to try it, and let me know if it works for you.
