# Problems Activating Google Analytics

 * Hello people,
    I don’t know what exactly is the problem here, maybe because I’m
   new to wordpress. I’m trying to activate the google analytics plugin on a website,
   it asks me to authentify using my google profile, gives me a UA code and asks
   me to enter it in a box below. until that moment everything is fine but when 
   I validate this, he asks me to start the whole process again, because it isn’t
   activated.
 * I’ve already been looking for solutions in these forums, and I can’t find any.
   
   Could someone help ? Please…? I’ll send you a cookie.

 * What is the exact name of the plugin you’re using? There are quite a few Google
   Analytics plugins.

 * I am using the google analytics by Yoast plugin.
    Also, I’m currently working
   on the website with xampp, on my own computer. Maybe that could matter here ?

 * You are using your PC for the WP site?
 * Yoast Analytics won’t work on your PC. GA is to work for a live site, not for
   an offline site.

 * Okay then.
    I find this quite strange, because every other plugin I used had 
   no problem being activated offline… I hope there won’t be no problem with the
   site going online. Thanks, anyway. I’ll mail you a cookie.

 * Greyzlee, if you check Google Analytics codes properly you will see that it tries
   to connect to [http://www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js](http://www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js)
   file.
 * Hence if you are in offline, then how it will connect to the file and activate?
