# Problems Adding Media

 * For several days now, I have had trouble adding media to a post. I am trying 
   to add an image, but it doesn’t show up in the post. Now when I try to do it,
   there are no images in my image library. But when I click the image library in
   the sidebar, the image is there like 3 times. I try to delete them all and reupload,
   but then I get an error uploading the image.
 * Now at least I’ve got it where the image is in my library only once, but when
   I try to add it to a post, no library images are visible.
 * Also, often when I try to click preview to see if an image has been added even
   though I can’t see it in the edit pane, I get an error, “no data received because
   the server sent no data.” I have gotten this on several different buttons.

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
 * – re-uploading all files & folders – **except** the wp-content folder – from 
   a **fresh** download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of
   files & folder before uploading the new ones.

 * I just re-installed WP 3.5.2 (after getting the no data message a couple times),
   and now my image library is visible when I try to add to the post. But when I
   click “insert into post” nothing happens.
 * And now that I go back to try again, there are no images visible again in the
   library.
 * I haven’t added or changed plugins or themes in ages, why would it stop working
   all of the sudden?

 * I’m now trying to update the JetPack plug-in, but I’m getting “no data received.”

 * These sound like server issues. Have you spoken to your hosts about them?

 * Not yet, but it seems to be a WordPress issue. The images are simply not appearing
   when I click “insert into post”, and then once I’ve done that and try to go back
   to the media library to try again, the library isn’t visible.
 * The “no data received” thing might be a server issue, but that’s a separate issue.
