 * I have never worked with MySQL before but
    i got onto my cPanel made a user,
   made a database with “All” priveliges checked, made the user able to use the
   database
 * easy!
 * except i go to install.php and get this:
 * <i>We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username
   and password is okay) but not able to select the volupt2_blog database.
 * * Are you sure it exists?
    * On some systems the name of your database is prefixed
   with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress. Could that be the
   problem?</i>
 * i’ve checked the database, it’s there, i’ve tried this as just “blog” for the
   name of the database…. but the server does say the name of the database is volupt2_blog
 * i’m stumped…

 * Did you edit the wp-config-sample.php with the information and rename it to wp-
   config.php ?

 * yeah, as the post shows, it’s got my own database name, username and password
   in the wp-config.php and has no problems with reading any of those.
 * it just can’t find the database i’ve names “volupt2_blog”, which does exist has
   been created and MySQL says is fine… but as i say, i know nothing about creating
   a database, perhaps i’m missing something on the MySQL panel…?

 * I’m having the same problem but recreating the user instance isn’t helping. I
   even tried to create a new database and that didn’t help either. I can access
   the database otherwise, via phpMyAdmin, etc, but WP won’t see it.

 * Ok I just went to wordpress.com and got a similar error. What’s going on?
