• Hi there,
I was so happy to find this theme and am really excited to get it going on my site. I have been trying to get the header image to come up instead of the blog title– but it does not seem to be working. I followed the directions in the stylesheet, saved my image as 960×200 pixels, and named it header.jpg, then put it in the themes images folder, but it still does not come up.
The url is http://www.servicesunited.net (much of the content is still in the works, so pardon out mess 🙂
    Thanks for your help,
    Jaimes

Oh- I just realized that I am running WP 2.7, not 2.6 on the site.

Hi! Glad you figured it out. Thanks for using the theme and let us know when the site is more built out.

thanks! It turns out that I had to shrink our header image down quite a bit to get the image to show up– which looks better for our design anyway, but the theme seemed to crop about 50px from the top and bottom when I inserted and image that was 200px tall. Not sure why. I’ll add our site to the wiki when we get it more built out.

You should really trim that header image down – it is very large and visitors with slower or dial-up connections will not appreciate the time it takes to draw. Either that or use one of the web services to optimize the image for faster display.

I have ultra fast fiber optics 25mb/sec download and it still took almost 3 seconds to draw. That is unacceptable.

Your header image is okay, I think @saurus was refering to the large image of jars on the homepage of your site…it’s nearly 450kb. Here it is, same dimensions 960×600, but only about 50kb…will load much faster…just download it and use it if you like…I’ll delete it from my site in a day or two…you could probably get it down to 10-15kb pretty easily if you wanted.

Thanks for this note. There might be something we can do to improve the theme as well. If I remember correctly, we set up the header height to be relative to the height of the font set in the Theme Options. Will look into this and incorporate into a future release if it’s an issue.

    Site is looking good though.

Patrick made a bunch of changes today and we incorporated an improvement based on your feedback. We should have a new release (look for 1.4.1 I believe) out in the next couple days.
