# Problems installing at root

 * I’m a *very* amateur webdev and only recently moved to Linux hosting from Windows…
   paths confuse me a bit! Anyway I’ve been able to install wordpress no problem
   in a sub-directory but don’t seem able to put it at the root…seems all links 
   point to /wordpress instead of the root.
 * My server’s a bit of a mess at the moment as I’ve uploaded multiple times and
   moved files etc…[http://fernsfarm.com/wordpress](http://fernsfarm.com/wordpress)
   is fine but I’ve also installed at [http://fernsfarm.com/](http://fernsfarm.com/)
   where all links point to [http://fernsfarm.com/wordpress](http://fernsfarm.com/wordpress)(
   in fact, only picking up style-sheets and assets from there.)
 * Anyone help?

 * I am getting Data Base error on both urls.
    You may have place holder in root
   that why you having problem installing root

 * S’ok – problem was cos I’d re-installed with same database! I’ve now created 
   a new one…you must have checked when I deleted DB.

 * I see that you have all installed now I have video tutorials on my website that
   will show how manage admin panel click on my name.
