 * I’m trying to move a blog over from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. I purchased
   a bluehost account and installed wordpress 2.1 on it. Now my problem is that
   I don’t know how to login to my wordpress account (where I can access “my dashboard”).
   Do I need to delete my old wordpress.com blog? Btw, the domain I want to use
   was set up to link to my wordpress.com account awhile ago. I did that through“
   Options>Domain” on my wordpress.com account.
 * I’ve read through the codex and can’t figure it out still.
 * Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

 * No, don’t delete your wp.com account. Once it’s gone, it’s gone and you can’t
   get it back.
 * When you installed the wp software, it should have created an account and emailed
   you your acocunt information. Did you get it? Where in the install procedure
   are you at?

 * Thanks drmike. I actually got it to work last night. It turns out the problem
   was that I had to change the nameservers listed in my original domain hosting
   service (the one I signed up with via wordpress.com). Once I switched over the
   nameservers to ns1.bluehost.com and ns2.bluehost.com, it was only a matter of
   time before my domain pointed to bluehost. So, basically, I’m able to login to
   my wordpress.org account now.

 * I am trying to move from wordpress.com to wordpress.org
 * I purchased a godaddy account and installed wordpress 2.1 on it. Now my problem
   is that the install url is not working for me:
    [http://msmoneygirl.net/wp-admin/install.php](http://msmoneygirl.net/wp-admin/install.php)
 * I’ve changed my name server from wordpress.com to my host’s name server already.
   I’ve also configured the wp-config. But I didn’t see anything moved.
 * Please help.

 * Changes to nameservers “may take 24-48 hours to be visible on the Internet” according
   to the e-mail I just got from WordPress after making the changes at Automattic’s
   manage-your-domain site.

 * If you care about rankings, you should delete your wp.com blog.
 * **When moving to Bluehost your images will not transfer
    “You would need to do
   a Backup of the images, files and database from WordPress and upload that to
   your site here. The transfer does not happen automatically. It needs manual upload.”
 * Since you can’t backup from .com, your images will not be in your old posts.
 * bummer.

 * Actually they will be. wp.com allows hotlinking of images.
 * Just don’t delete your wp.com blog.
