# Problems replacing Joomla with WordPress

 * I am having problems replacing Joomla with WordPress to run my site.
 * I installed Joomla in the root directory, half built a site but then decided 
   to use WordPress instead (I found it far easier to use!). I installed WordPress
   in a subdirectory (/wordpress) and have built a site that I would now like to
   use.
 * Going to _mydomain.com/wordpress_ starts up the WordPress site, and going to 
   _mydomain.com_ starts up the Joomla site.
 * I’m not bothered about moving the WordPress files, but I would like to know how
   to get the WordPress site to load when you I to _mydomain.com_.
 * I’ve tried changing the Site Address URL in General>Settings, but this hasn’t
   had any effect. I’ve had a look at [http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory](http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory)
   but I’m not sure which guidance fits my situation.
