Problems starting Apache on Xampp

    Hello everyone,
    I’ve had this problem for two days now, I never had it before, even when I switched from W7 to 10.
    MySQL has no problem starting, but Apache shuts down systematically half a second after starting. This is the error message I have :

    20:39:04 [Apache] Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly.
    20:39:04 [Apache] This may be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies,
    20:39:04 [Apache] improper privileges, a crash, or a shutdown by another method.
    20:39:04 [Apache] Press the Logs button to view error logs and check
    20:39:04 [Apache] the Windows Event Viewer for more clues
    20:39:04 [Apache] If you need more help, copy and post this
    20:39:04 [Apache] entire log window on the forums
    20:39:08 [Apache] Problem detected!
    20:39:08 [Apache] Port 80 in use by “Unable to open process” with PID 4!
    20:39:08 [Apache] Apache WILL NOT start without the configured ports free!
    20:39:08 [Apache] You need to uninstall/disable/reconfigure the blocking application
    20:39:08 [Apache] or reconfigure Apache and the Control Panel to listen on a different port

    I’ve not had much experience using xampp and trying to troobleshoot these kind of problem.

    It looks like port 80 for Apache is being used by something else. Try changing it to a different port.

    I tried doing it. I think I did it right, according to whatI saw elsewhere, changing ports number in httpd.conf, and httpd-ssl.conf, and the problem is still the same. Same error, with the same number.
