# Problems Upgrading

 * I am trying to upgrade wordpress automatically, and get the following error:
 * Downloading update from [http://wordpress.org/wordpress-2.9.2.zip](http://wordpress.org/wordpress-2.9.2.zip).
 * Unpacking the update.
 * Could not copy files.
 * Installation Failed
 * This isnt my server, so before i actually go to the server guys and ask them 
   about this i wondered if there is anything i can do my end / something ive done
   wrong or if it is a specific server problem i can point out to them?

 * ps – i am using 2.9.1 and wanting to upgrade to 2.9.2.
 * when upgrading plugins i get a similar issue when trying to update automatically:
 * Downloading update from [http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/%5Bplugin](http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/%5Bplugin)
   zip file]
 * Unpacking the update.
 * Installing the latest version.
 * Deactivating the plugin.
 * Removing the old version of the plugin.
 * Could not remove the old plugin.
 * Plugin upgrade Failed.

 * chances are…it may be a permissions problem….which would really require server
   access
