# Problems upgrading or installing Version 5.2.7

 * i am having a problem updating to the latest version. it downloads the package
   but never completes the installation. i have removed the plugin completely and
   tried to install from scratch, but still does not complete the installation.
 * how can i resolve this?

 * When you say ‘install from scratch’ are you doing it through the wordpress admin
   area? If you have ftp access can you try uploading a new copy from you local 
   machine? This might work better.

 * updating does not work for me either. Never had an issue with it before.
    I tried
   to change the rights via ftp but now it hangs on this error: cannot write wordfence/
   images/wordfenceFalcon.png before it was “cannot write wordfence.php

 * So, you are uploading the plugin by ftp or just changing permissions and trying
   in the backend again?

 * Been having problem updating to version 5.2.7 direct from my WP admin/plugin 
   page. I leave off and try every now and again thinking maybe Wordfence haven’t
   fixed the problem yet! But every time I try upgrading, I get the same old message:‘
   Could not copy file.wordfence/wordfence.php’. Why am I having this problem? Why

 * Ok, guys. I’m going top have to ask you respect the rules and create a new post
   and not hijack someone else’s post. Every server is different and each pf you
   deserve to have your problem addressed and focused on individually.
