I am on a managed site, and yesterday the urls relating to the blog were changed, this was around noon. Ever since, the admin panel gives me trouble when logging in, and the whole site looks corrupt.

An example of the degree of corruption I am looking at is that the links in control panel are all blue now. All theme template choices lack images, and any time I try to change anything, I get booted out.

When I look at my site, it has only the background color, the white that should be behind the text to make it legible is gone.

The platform managers are telling me that this is all propagation related stuff. I am no expert, but that feels untrue given what I am dealing with. Can anyone shed light on this for me?

  • What is your site’s url?

Sometimes they might need some additional money from you šŸ™‚

Was your site moved by your hosts?

The site wasn’t moved from its previous location by the hosts, but it was likely moved during the process of setting up with them.

I think it was because when I started with them they gave me a temporary url. So they may have moved it, but I am not sure.

Could you elaborate and give us the full story please?

I set up my WordPress site on a managed platform, just the template, header and empty pages, only the first had content. It looked right. Then the domain name I was awaiting the transfer of came through.

I was moving from Weebly to GoDaddy. So the name was then directed at my managed GoDaddy WordPress site, and that’s when my problems began.

When I open the WP admin login page, all images are corrupt, there are two dialogue boxes and some text, nothing else. When I log in to admin panel, all of the option links are blue instead of the usual black. When I hover over them, the background which is usually present is not there, so the links overlap the other page text.

The theme related images are missing but for one offered by GoDaddy.

As for my website, it is missing
all formatting, as well as the text background.

I forgot to say that any change I attempt to make boots me out of admin panel.

What url did you use? Are you using the same url now?

When I initially set up the site I used their temporary url, and no, its my own url now, judesmetaworld.com

How was the url change handled? Following the instructions in Changing_The_Site_URL?

Ugh, I thank you so much for your help, but the situation has now been resolved. I made an erroneous change in admin panel, and that’s what caused everything. I thought that might have happened and was going to look to see what the error was, but I kept getting kicked out no matter what I clicked on.

As it turned out, someone had put the wrong WordPress url in there, not sure how that happened, but all is good now.

    So sorry for bothering.

Figured it was a site url issue. Glad to hear that it’s now sorted. šŸ™‚
