Problems with debit payment

    Hello, I have a problem when a customer selects the direct debit payment option/guest payment. An error occurs which is known to Paypal as they say. They have sent me the following links and named point 5. I can’t do anything with it and I am not sure if this is what is needed. They say that the API for direct debit payment is not set up correctly. What do I need to set up so that it works:

    Addendum: the links above explain the integration of “Giropay” and “Sofort zahlen” – but that’s not my point. It’s about the direct debit payment option without the customer having a PayPal account, i.e. “guest payment”.

    Screen shots or still better screen recodings ( duly blurred out of any critical information ) would help me understand what you are saying.

    Hi, I saw that you tried to register. But I’ve switched off the Guest payment at the moment. So you could not test it. Now I switched it on so now you can try it again, and then choose the payment without a PayPal account.

    When do you get the error – I get through to pay by debit or credit card. Is it later?}As it is clearly a test amount (0.01 euro ) can you switch to Sandbox to allow full testing?

    I don’t mean the credit/ debit CARD checkout, the problem ist when I choose “the credit/ Debit card” checkout and then there ist the possibility Bank: Per Lastschriftvereinbarung zahlen (debit)

    I’m not sure in the sandbox-testing. Does it work if I just tick the sandbox option? Or Is it necessary to make further settings? The mail address of the sandbox accounts from my PayPal?

    1. Sandbox – you will need to set up a Sandbox test accounst ( buyer and seller ) it is complex – but extrememly useful https://developer.paypal.com/tools/sandbox/
    2. I tested using my sandbox Guest Debit cards and it works find … but
    3. “then there ist the possibility Bank: Per Lastschriftvereinbarung zahlen (debit)” I have zero idea about this or how it is enabled or diabled – that option is not available to me on your site (maybe because I’m in the UK? )
      I cant see what goes wrong

    ok, thank you very much, Alan!! maybe the problem is here, that the API doesn’t support this Lastschriftverfahren-Feature, because it is not available in your. country?

    I’m in contact with PayPal Technical Support and send you the information, if I get.

    I had an extra long communication thread with PayPal. They tested everything and with the parameters that come from the event website (with the plug in) everything is fine. They have another problem there. But this affects the debit from banking account directly, that is not available from UK by guess.
